Making nut milk is actually easy, affordable and definitely a healthier option due to the fact that you are in charge of exactly what goes in the milk in which you will be drinking so that means no additional unknowns in the milk.
If I can do it you definitely can.
Select nuts. For the making of nut milk almond and cashews work the best.
Purchase the nuts.
I buy my cashews from Amazon $22.98 for the 2 lbs bag.
Very user friendly for cooking.
For every 1 a cup of cashews you use 4 cups of tap or filtered water. Select how much you are going to make.
Place tap or filtered water over the cashews in a glass container and have them soak over night in the refrigerator. You want them to soak about twelve hours.
Step Five, Six, Seven and Eight
The next day rinse the cashews off. Then place them into a blender with 4 cups of tap or filtered water and blend for a minute or two. The pore into containers.
I then pour the nut milk into glass jars with a lid. I do not filter the milk. It comes out creamy. It doesn't come out with tiny pieces of cashews. I had this happen on several occasion because I didn't soak the nuts over night. It is definitely something I am aware of that soaking makes for a successful nut milk. The milk can stay in your refrigerator for up to a week.
